Woodford County Huntertown Elementary Renovation/Addition
Versailles, Kentucky

As part of a growing community, Huntertown Elementary was in need of additional space and an overall renovation. The reconfiguration of existing spaces included turning the existing multi-purpose room into a new cafeteria. A new gymnasium was also added along with additional square footage for administrative offices and the media center. An existing interior courtyard was updated offering an outdoor instructional space adjacent to the media center. These additions give new life to an existing facility.
Once an internally focused space, new window openings both on the exterior and on the interior allow light to cut into and through the building. The building now opens up to its surrounding landscape. Site elements connecting the main entrance and the gymnasium lobby entrance create an outdoor gathering space to draw the public up to and inside the building.
