Old Business:
Rudy contacted Drew and he said he would climb the tower when we have
everything together.
Use of another tower by the LSARC was discussed again and it was
clarified by Walt that the only person we need to do business with Mike
(head of DEM). He can grant us permission for usage of the tower.*
A report of field day was given. It was a small turn out but a good time and
a learning experience. It was enjoyed.
Repeater trustee is to remain unchanged.
*Next we heard a report from Scott about the upcoming next meeting of he
DEM .
It will be held at the Carroll County Courthouse`in Berryville. July 25 at
8:00 a.m.
Following this we had a brief discussion of some of our needs and what our
concerns would be in relation to staying on the air and how to reach out to
and involve other ham opperators in the area. Also talked about equipment
and training for ARES, WINLINK, ETC.
I would add at this time that I (Rudy) attended that meeting along with Walt
and had a brief opportunity to speak with Mike afterwards about the tower
on Hwy 23 south and he told me that I would deal directly with him and that
after they got their equipment installed then we would be able to access the
tower, but, to go only through him. (Mike MacKelvy)
It was decided to meet at the church basement again next month unless we
heard something from the hospital.
Meeting was concluded at 1312.
